I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making huge financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters met for the customary face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
