Close to 25,000 Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Weather Systems
Approximately 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast found themselves lacking electricity on the start of the week after intense storm systems passed over the area, bringing powerful gusts topping over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Widespread Damage
Residents observed large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Emergency response teams handled nearly 600 requests for assistance across the area, mainly for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

At one point on the previous day, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing storm activity predicted across various areas of both areas.
Health Warning
Medical authorities alerted that there was an higher risk of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
